Steven Muckerheide

With over 25 years in the motion picture and television industry, Steven Muckerheide is one of the most seasoned and innovative executives in production, post-production and distribution including electronic film mastering, worldwide broadcast/manufactured/internet distribution and interactive media production. As an expert in process engineering and re-engineering, Mr. Muckerheide transformed and rebuilt one of Hollywood's greatest movie studio technical groups, The Walt Disney Studios-Worldwide Technical Services, from a small video fulfillment operation into the largest global provider of integrated movies (picture, sound, previews, trailers) and television shows for all forms of distribution. As Vice President of WTS, Mr. Muckerheide helped lead the company's operation in support of a $3.5 billion per year worldwide distribution enterprise.

Currently, as President and Co-Founder of Backlot Imaging, Mr. Muckerheide has built a near-shore visual effects outsource company for the Hollywood production, post-production and editorial community. Earlier, as a Production Manager with Columbia Pictures, Mr. Muckerheide helped engineer a studio transition from the film photo-chemical world into the video electronic world in support of the fledgling Home Video business that ultimately grew into an $800 million per year operating unit in just three years.

Mr. Muckerheide began his career with CBS Television City-Hollywood, coordinating the multi-million dollar four stage production facility for episodic shows, soap operas, game-shows, west coast sports operations, news, and national broadcast operations.

Mr. Muckerheide is an Adjunct Professor at Marquette University, College of Communication, Broadcasting Program and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Film School. Mr. Muckerheide was recognized as the 2007 Communicator of the Year at Marquette University.

Mr. Muckerheide earned his Bachelors degree in Broadcasting and Film from Marquette University and an MBA in Management from Pepperdine University, Graziadio School of Business and Management.
